Re: If Blood was done today
(Sorry for the delay: I've been struggling against depression... and I'm not sure if I'm winning.) That's unfortunate to hear. Try prayer and eating fresh garlic daily. It's fun to speculate about a modern sequel to BLOOD. But I will tell you this - if I were approaching a masterpiece in a foolish ...

I'm sad Fate of the Damned got only one vote. I wish I could change my vote.

Re: The Way Of Ira
I don't like the temple designs much, but the exterior areas remind me of the minimalism of Craig Hubbard's levels, except perhaps not as expert in terms of scaling and texturing. Your shading skill has definitely improved a lot from where you started. You should perhaps start fresh with an entirely...

Re: two tracks i made using sound files from blood
I understand the aesthetic, it just rubs me the wrong way. Punk/hardcore are the only genres I actively avoid, and also things that have "core" in the name. I think I was introduced to Neurosis before as well. I can dig that, the slower riffs have a very "stoner" feel which I like.

Re: two tracks i made using sound files from blood
Yeah, punk really does nothing for me. I like dissonance and chaotic juxtapositions of major over minor, especially when it is done in a rhythmically disjointed fashion like the solo starting at around 3 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFgOOMRFNVE That's what your solo reminded me of, but f...

Re: two tracks i made using sound files from blood
This is very interesting, I'm digging the vibe and production. Very crispy and smooth at the same time. Didn't care much for the solo at the end of "Blood" but the laugh sample fit very well. I liked the other song better.
Good job, seven out of ten severed hands.

That's a really cool find, an excellent piece of history. Kudos to whomever made the scans.

That looks crazy. I hope the gameplay picks up in speed after that initial sequence, but damn, what a cool introduction!

Re: The Spriting Dark Carnival
I actually meant simply mirroring the front and back facing animations so that the scythe is held to the right instead of left (like in the screenshot). This would mean that the left and right hand will magically swap positions at certain angles, but this occurs either way so it would be no harm don...

Re: The Spriting Dark Carnival
I'm really loving the black phantasm. Great job! I guess the sprite could also be mirrored so that the scythe is rested on the opposite side like in the pre-alpha screenshot? The front- and back-facing ones; the engine mirrors the ones in between anyway so inevitably the scythe is going to appear on...

Re: Ion Fury, the Modern Build Game by Voidpoint
They caused a shitstorm for doing what their PR company told them to do, and then 3DR forced them to do, if the information I was able to find is correct. The outcome was in fact predicted by the devs who never actually wanted to issue any apologies, but have had their hand forced on the matter. The...

Re: Ion Fury, the Modern Build Game by Voidpoint
Not that I actually cared if they changed/removed some sprites, this statement makes me proud and hopeful:
Thank you, Voidpoint and 3D Realms, for standing up for yourselves and handling this with strength and maturity.

Re: Ion Fury, the Modern Build Game by Voidpoint
I visited the supposed gaming forum Resetera to see what it's all about, and I have to admit, I've literally never seen more retards in one place. At first I thought that it was purely political activism, but that's probably only 10% of it - the rest is pure retardation of the brain displayed by a b...

Re: When does BLOOD take place?
This has been discussed a lot and I've heard numerous theories some of which are quite out there, but the general consensus is that much thought wasn't put into it during development. It is more likely that artists and designers were focusing on their vision without caring at all for historical accu...
