Back from a busy saturday night. 3:30 am here and I want to dream to this song.
Memories of older BF , his 55 chevy, and teenager me, crossing Canada together in Summer of 2010 (escaping from home). He stopped the ole Chevy in the middle of nowhere, Alberta, in the dead of night no town in sight for miles and miles . Which means: look up and stars are countless . Sky is white with stars!

Rock and Roll Babylon
Love and Rockets
(lyrics below. Pure poetry I tells ya)

All those Elvis records
Circling the earth
I think I've said four times over
Were you present at the birth?
Twinkle, twinkle, little star
How we wonder what you are
Spin a web of dreams
And die for us on a cross of pills
Your not too dumb to see
A manager of schools of thought,
Parasites who scheme
I'm writing up the holocaust
Of all those broken dreams
Rock and Roll Babylon on the brink
Gives a little slap come on, wink
To beckon the stars down from the sky
Rock and Roll Babylon on the brink
Gives a little slap come on, wink
To beckon the stars down from the sky
Can you hear me Lady Diamond
In your home from home?
When your mommy calls you in
Are you oblivious to the throne?
That the farm's reserved for you,
The effigy's in stone
We loved you Lady Diamond
Though we lost you in the zone
Tightrope walker
Take all our chances for us
Tightrope walker
Take all our chances for us
Oh come on and be a tightrope walker
Take all our chances for us
Tightrope walker
Take all our chances
Who killed Johny Moondog
Was the assassin you and me?
To oversell the antidote,
Or is it down to Jack and Jerry Lee?
If you bite a chunk out of the moon,
Will it help you see?

This one dedicated to Steve who took me on a ride on his Harley from Montreal to Vermont on a breezy July day. Holy MOther of God was my heart racing. The sound of that engine thumping, distinct thumps not melting into one another, but beating like your heart.
This is a bloodite tune fer shure

the Nile song
Luv them lyrics !!

I was standing by the Nile
When I saw the lady smile.
I would take her out for a while,
For a while.
Oh, my tears wept like a child.
How her golden hair was blowing wild.
Then she spread her wings to fly,
For to fly.
Soaring high above the breezes,
Going always where she pleases.
She will make it to the islands in the sun.
I will follow in her shadow
As I watch her from my window.
One day I will catch her eye.
She is calling from the deep,
Summoning my soul to endless sleep.
She is bound to drag me down,
Drag me down.

top song when in HS in Montreal. Tempus fugit

Groovy. On the topic of French songs, this one has been stuck in my head the past few weeks:

I was originally exposed to the Russian cover of it, but the original can't be beat.

A Russian cover yousay. ...are ya Russian? I love all things Russian . Dostoevski. Winning ww2.
Wish I could speak it. A girl I once was close to was from the Donbass, a few years back.

Her is a classic:
BREL. de la pure poesie

"La chanson des vieux amants". Much better than "ne me quitte pas" (also good).

Lyrics to La Chanson Des Vieux Amants :

Bien sûr, nous eûmes des orages
Vingt ans d'amour, c'est l'amour fol
Mille fois tu pris ton bagage

{Refrain:}
Mais mon amour
Mon doux mon tendre mon merveilleux amour

Finalement finalement
Il nous fallut bien du talent
Pour être vieux sans être adultes

{Refrain}

Oh, mon amour
Mon doux mon tendre mon merveilleux amour

{Refrain}

Oh, mon amour...
Mon doux mon tendre mon merveilleux amour
De l'aube claire jusqu'à la fin du jour
Je t'aime encore tu sais je t'aime

english translation
(my own attempt)

Of course, we had thunder- storms,
Twenty years of love is a mad love
A thousand times you took your suitcase
A thousand times I took off
And every piece of furniture remembers
In this bedroom without a child's cradle
The shattering of old storms
Nothing seemed like anything anymore
You had lost the desire for testing waters
And I the desire for conquest

But my Love
My sweet my tender my wonderful Love
From clear daybreak until the end of day
I still love you , you know I love you

I know all your bewitchings
You know all my spells
You kept me in spite of the traps
I lost you from time to time
Of course you had some lovers
The time had to be spent
And the body needs to exult
But finally, finally
We were very talented
To be old without being adults

But my Love
My sweet my tender my wonderful Love
From clear daybreak until the end of day
I still love you , you know I love you

And more the time passes by
And more the time torments us
But isn't it the worst trap
for two lovers to live in peace
Of course you cry a little less early
I tear myself apart a little less later
We protect our mysteries less
We no longer trust chance
We get careful about the water flow
But it is always the tender war

But my Love
My sweet my tender my wonderful Love
From clear daybreak until the end of day
I still love you you know I love you

Originally Russian-speaking Ukrainian as well, But I grew up in the US. Did you ever experiment with learning Russian or another language?

Hey that is so cool. I hope you did not lose your Russian as it is such a beautiful language.
Probably not a good idea to talk politics here if you are in the US, with all the hysterical Russophobia (which seems to extend to Russian speaking Ukrainians from the Donbas). So unfair. So dark.
On a brighter note
Thanks for the song upload: what an angelical voice ! And those eyes !

About languages (since you ask) :
I know Latin (reading only ...but losing it slowly) , French, English (native fluency) and quite advanced German. A bit of Attic Greek. Went to good Catholic schools in Swizterland and Quebec. Jesuits know how to teach!!
BTW As I see it, the Russian Orthodox Church is in many ways similar to the Catholic Church, (The Virgin Mary, iconography, Saints, imagery, similar celibate priesthood rules) . Used to chat for hours with Natasha (stage name) about our respective faiths. I am not very good at heeding all commands though, especially a particular few, but I really try.
