Without a good foundation, no make up can amount to anything. Elementary, indeed.

Rush , rush...
The best romantic song I know of. Reeves as Dean...spot on.
Feeling a tad mournful about past loves that amounted to naught. Steve, Natasha, this is for you
Being reminded that we are all alone, that's all.

Sind Sie Deutscher? Leider habe ich keine gelegenheiten , mei Deutschzu uben...)
So in Englisch (oder franzosisch) fur mich
This one is sexy as hell. Sweaty oily bodies of guys in this age range always do it for me. Having sinful thoughts of BDMS now. (me as sub)
And the beat in this one is impossible to resist!!
I used to dance to Rammstein, but older ones during special retro nights .
The one that gets me moving is the Engel one

Re: The Altar of Stone Jukebox
Impressive polyglot repertoire! If you already know Latin and German, Russian shouldn't be hard since you'll know what to expect with grammar, case endings, etc. Thankfully I didn't lose my Russian, unlike many people who emigrated at an even later age than I did. Reading and writing is at an elementary school level. Besides that, I know German at a non-advanced level. I wanted to learn a Romance language next, possibly French or refreshing what little knowledge of Spanish I had.Lizzieborden wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 3:02 pm Hey that is so cool. I hope you did not lose your Russian as it is such a beautiful language.
Probably not a good idea to talk politics here if you are in the US, with all the hysterical Russophobia (which seems to extend to Russian speaking Ukrainians from the Donbas). So unfair. So dark.
On a brighter note
Thanks for the song upload: what an angelical voice ! And those eyes !
About languages (since you ask) :
I know Latin (reading only ...but losing it slowly) , French, English (native fluency) and quite advanced German. A bit of Attic Greek. Went to good Catholic schools in Swizterland and Quebec. Jesuits know how to teach!!
BTW As I see it, the Russian Orthodox Church is in many ways similar to the Catholic Church, (The Virgin Mary, iconography, Saints, imagery, similar celibate priesthood rules) . Used to chat for hours with Natasha (stage name) about our respective faiths. I am not very good at heeding all commands though, especially a particular few, but I really try.
Regarding Russophobia, that sentiment has been brewing here since 2016 among liberal-oriented people who scapegoated Russia for the election of Trump. The invasion of Ukraine just gave them a convenient excuse to go ham. Prior to that, they most likely didn't even discern Russians and Ukrainians. Not saying this in support of anyone, just an impartial observation.
The Eastern Orthodox church (not so much the Oriental Orthodox) is like a less wealthy and less centralized version of the Catholic church on the surface, with beards.

It surprises me that Canadians learn German.
The best song by Rammstein is Germany. It is a representation of German history.

Re: The Altar of Stone Jukebox
Actually, Natasha at the club in montreal told me that 2014 is when shit really started, with the US backed coup in Ukraine (courtesy of neocons like Nuland) , the Maidan, and putting "Yats" in charge. The first law Kiev passed was to make the Russian language illegal. WTF.Regarding Russophobia, that sentiment has been brewing here since 2016 among liberal-oriented people who scapegoated Russia for the election of Trump.
Anywa I prefer to drop the topic on the forum, as it really gets blood boiling for many .
About Russian: I was considering teaching French in exchange for Russian lessons. Things is...Summer is the worst time. Less club shifts / stag stuff in favor of Yacht gigs to take care of stuff. And there is no knowing when and where or for how long (and I often refuse if I think its too shady).
So no Russian before end of Summer for me.
Does Russian have nominative/accusative/gentitive/dative/ablative changed endings of actual nouns, like Latin? or jsut articles (like German).?
That is so funny !!!!!the Oriental Orthodox) is like a less wealthy and less centralized version of the Catholic church on the surface, with beards.

Re: The Altar of Stone Jukebox
Although I am Canadian, I lived most of my childhood in Lausanne, Swizterland (private school, in French) German is taught at age 8 to 16. Latin age 9 to 16, English age 9 to 16 as well. Greek was optional. I left when I was 15.Ja, das bin ich wohl.
It surprises me that Canadians learn German.
And in Quebec, Canada, my girls only Catholic school was very language oriented as well. But I sorta ran away. long story.
Voila!
Wenn ich nur nicht so viel vergessen hatte, konnte ich Ihnen auf Deutsch schreiben . (umlauts on the verbs hatte and konnte..cannot do it here for some reason...HEY I remember the subjucntive I think!!)
